Kim Ficaro’s world consists of many parts. For 2 decades she has worked in the commercial and editorial world as a prop/ interior stylist and set designer, an editor, author and designer, but mostly a woman that moves through the world with her senses absorbing, always curious and thoughtful, finding ways to connect with places and objects she discovers, but most importantly with herself and others.

Kim has her hands and heart in many places in the world. Her work, her receptiveness, thoughtfulness and commitment to offering beauty in whatever form is the gentle thread that continues throughout. This is where she thrives, where she sees opportunity to communicate creatively, with the world and one another.

about

After studying fine art at SVA, kim spent a few years working for artists, designers, makers and stylists. She quickly found herself being called into the world of set design and prop styling. She was the Style Editor of the original Domino Magazine for 3.5 years. Since then, she has moved swiftly around the world styling for advertising, fashion, lifestyle, interiors and more.

Kim is the co-author and creator of The Inspired Home, Nests of Creatives, an interior book published by Rizzoli in 2014 where she and her co-author designer Todd Nickey, curated a selection of recognizable personalities and their homes. She also worked with Canvas Home, collaborating & designing a small collection of furniture and textiles. Kim has contributed to WSJ magazine, Bon Appetit and Yolo Journal for market and editorial pieces. In 2017 she developed and designed her home collection Totem Home. She works mainly with small productions, artisans and workshops in Oaxaca and Portugal. Her quest comes from a place of a deep desire to create and offer beautiful pieces for the home in a conscious, slow and thoughtful manner, where the value is placed on the imperfect, quality, and care.
